Comment on Prednisone for Yeasty Paws

Hello Brian,

Prednisone is a steroid drug and will suppress your dog's immune response to the yeast microorganism.

This may APPEAR to solve the problem, but in fact, will ultimately make your dog's yeast problem worse. If you use the prednisone to suppress the symptoms and then stop it, you will find that the problem will come back fairly quickly and will be worse than before you started the prednisone.

So bottom line...Prednisone is never a ' solution ' to a health problem of any kind. It will only suppress and mask the symptom.
