Canadian Natural Health Products Industry Threatened !

The new natural health products regulations in Canada are proving to be an " unmitigated disaster ".

As many of you are aware, we ( meaning the natural health supplements industry ) are having quite a battle with Health Canada, and the Minister of Health and its new NHP Department.

It is quite a story!

Health Canada is on track to eliminate 75% of natural health products.

Did you know that LAWS HAVE ALREADY BEEN PASSED removing your Constitutional rights to use safe, natural alternatives, rather than drugs?

The NHPD has actually being trying to close down this industry for years and years but, they are much closer now.

The NHPD has succeeded in having over 17,0000 natural health products taken off the market this last year.

For example...in their 'wisdom' a licence has been denied to Nature's Sunshine's pure ' parsley ' capsules.

Parsley...yeah, you know that stuff everyone grows in their garden, and puts on a plate for garnish.

Parsley has a long history of use for improving kidney function. Parsley is rich in sodium and potassium, necessary to regulate fluids in the body, lower blood pressure, and slow the pulse.

Is that crazy or what???

The average citizen knows nothing about this. We are now facing a very difficult challenge.

If we are not able to persuade Health Canada to revise their licencing criteria to standards that are more appropriate to Natural Health Products, then we will have lost a great deal of freedom of choice in health care.

What does ' more appropriate ' mean? It means a low level of risk, and a long history of safe use.

Compare this to the US model, where Natural Health Products are deemed to be safe and the FDA can only remove them with evidence of harm.

Where would we be if we had a judicial system that deemed us guilty until proven innocent? I would hate to think!!! As Canadians our ' freedom of choice ' is at risk, and our constitutional rights are being violated.

As Nature's Sunshine Independent distributors, we will be helping to organize awareness meetings which will be held across Canada. These meetings are for everyone, not just Nature's Sunshine members.

Everyone who has ever bought whole food supplements and herbal health supplements from any company is welcome.

For those of us who make our living in the natural health industry, this situation is critical. However, this is not about ' market share '.
