Labradoodle Addiction

Better Than Chocolate

The Labradoodle is the ultimate breed in the Designer Dogs category.

What comes to mind when you think about designer dogs?

Do you picture a dog so stunningly beautiful it brings tears to your eyes, sophisticated and well bred, and definitely beyond the often heard comment...' he's just a dog, isn't he ? '.

I'm never quite sure what I think about the whole Designer Dogs controversy, but there's one thing I do know. It's not the dogs fault !

But I can tell you from personal experience that Labradoodle addiction is serious. You will never stop being addicted to your Labradoodle. The recovery rate is zero!

Here's why...

...and NOW...drum roll, please...

The dog of your wildest dreams!!!

Meet Our Chocolate Labradoodle Teddy!

There's nothing I don't love about Teddy, other than he always wants to bring a shoe or a boot every time someone enters the house...but I can live with that!

Meet Tedward!

Chocolate Labradoodle Here's a little thought taken from a cute book called Pets' Letters to God.

This quote is ' typical Teddy '.

Dear God,

When I get to Heaven, can I play frisbee with my halo?

That about sums Teddy up. He's an Angel Dog!

Here is Teddy's motto for prosperity.

I AM a frisbee magnet!

Remember the words to this old song ' Baby Face '? Well, the lyrics have been changed slightly, by me.

Teddy Face,

You've got the cutest little Teddy Face,

No one else could take your place,

Teddy Face

My poor heart is thumpin',

You sure have started somethin'

Teddy Face!

Teddy came to us when he was fourteen weeks old.

My friend and neighbor Sharon called to say that this little Labradoodle puppy was looking for a home. He had been born with a Grade 4 heart murmur and the breeder couldn't sell him.

Could I take him in...please, please, please???

Well, I had to give it some thought, hhhmmmmm ( maybe not even five seconds )...but yes, I thought maybe we could take one more dog.

Teddy Comes Home

Labradoodle puppy So Sharon and her husband Dennis, brought him home to us the next night.

It was love at first sight. I was already addicted.

Poor little thing! He was hiding behind Dennis' legs, and I knew what Dennis was thinking. I could tell he was in love with Teddy already!

Another addictee.

Our English Springer Spaniel Pager, immediately took Teddy under his wing, and the two have been joined at the hip ever since. Pager is addicted to Teddy too.

What About This Canine Heart Murmur?

Here's what the vet said...

"Well, he might live for many years and have no problems, although that's unlikely...or ...he could drop dead anytime!"

Well thanks for all your help!

So what to do about this?

I decided to put Teddy on a heart healthy herbal program. He will stay on it indefinitely...maybe for his whole life.

When Teddy was neutered at 6 months of age, I was concerned about his heart murmur. The vet declared, and I quote..." there is no discernable irregularity of heart beat. What are you doing? "

The rest is history! Everyday is a new day to be enjoyed, and my addiction is completely full blown.

My Favorite Labradoodle Picture

Here's Teddy with our friend Dorota. She is smitten too. How can you tell?

Teddy is an F1 Labradoodle ( first generation lab poodle mix ).

He is a rich chocolate color with some silver undercoat. Teddy's appearance is wild and crazy. It suits his, uummm...let me just call it ' free spirit '.

Everyday is a bad hair day for Teddy!

I am constantly brushing and combing Teddy. Mostly because I just love to touch him, and can't get enough of him.

I am addicted, you know!

However, the groomed look only lasts for about five minutes until the next ' shake '.

Who cares?

Teddy continues to do well on his heart healthy herbal program and his

raw food diet for dogs.

His appetite is boundless.

My free spirited Angel Dog is full of energy.

He can run like the wind!

The so called Left-Right political spectrum is our creation. In fact, it accurately reflects our careful, artificial polarization of the population on phony issues that prevents the issue of our power from arising in their minds.
